You get a good read on history of the island and the inhabitants who remain living there. Interesting historical and unique stories about the island I never heard before. We saw plenty of dolphins. Captain Pete is a good tour guide and answered all our questions about the area. One dolphin came alongside the boat, we got some great pictures during the voyage. Whatever you do, DO NOT FEED any of the marine life. You get to tour the workshops and meet the artist, when available. You tour on a golf cart as you go to and walk thru the historical sites. Wear good non-slip walking shoes for the boat ride and during your trek in/out of the sites. Bring good a camera, I recommend bringing a small one or use your cell phone. If you wear a hat make sure it is secured on your head because the wind could blow it off during the boat ride. The water mist, wind and/or sun will hamper your ability to see, so eyewear is recommended. It gets a little cool on the boat ride, so dress accordingly to your comfort. Light snacks and water were provided. You can still bring your own snacks. The tour was one of the longer ones, so make sure you have time to enjoy it. It was very easy to schedule the tour online. The staff were very knowledgeable, quite efficient and courteous. The Outside Hilton Head website displays all your tour options, prices, tour duration and other need to knows.
