Bus driver, who was owner, was kind. Disappointed in the lunch which was a bag lunch…perhaps I misunderstood the description when booking. Bus tour of Charleston was mediocre. The tour of Fort Sumter was great. We unfortunately experienced a tire blowout on the way back. Significant delay on bus. Driver/owner was very apologetic. He hired another company to pick us up and this van also experienced a malfunction in the vehicle and we were detained a 2nd time. Eventually made it back by 9:30 pm.

Excellent tour. On time all day. Extremely informative and comfortable. Large tour motor coach left Myrtle Beach very near our resort at 6:45am. Very organized tour operator and driver (Richard). Great warm personality. We opted for the small bus historic district tour once in Charleston. Others took the carriage ride tour. Our city tour was wonderful. Next came time to shop and explore on foot. We assembled back on the tour bus for the short ride over to the harbor to visit Fort Sumpter National Park. The ferry ride was refreshing and smooth. Tour of Fort Sumpter was educational with talks given by National Parks rangers. Before arriving at the harbor dock out tour operators provided us with a nice sack lunch (fresh turkey sandwich, chips, fruit, cookies, drinks). After arriving back at the dock from Fort Sumpter we traveled to Boone Plantation. What a beautiful, historic, and docent led educational visit. At the end of a long, full, excursion day we retuned to Myrtle. Thank you Richard for a hospitable and wonderful day. .

It was an interesting trip. The driver was very pleasant and gave some good stories of the city history. This trip had people for both tour #5 and 9. So he was constantly dropping off and coming back for pickup. That being said he did a good job. Pickup is very early in the morning and they do not provide water or a stop on the way for those of us that didn’t get a chance to get coffee. We were not given a schedule of the presentations and events at Boone Plantation so some of the things we might have wanted to do or see were missed. For example we arrived just as the Gullah show was starting (a definite highlight of trip) and handed a brown paper bag lunch and water/soda and driver took to pickup the #9 people to bring them back. The last show was scheduled the same time as the House tour. The house door was okay but there were much more interesting times to do and learn . All in all it was a good day.
