If you’ve always wanted to try snorkeling, take my word for it and add the SeaQuest Deluxe Morning Snorkeling Adventure tour to your Big Island Itinerary!!
I enjoyed this tour so much I took it two days in a row! SeaQuest provides snorkeling gear and snacks/drinks, so all you really need is sunscreen. Be sure to cover yourself well! I also personally recommend sunglasses and a hat if your at all sun sensitive.
First day I went with my brother. This was my first time at snorkeling so I didn’t know what to expect. There were 5 in the group, all at different experience levels. Captain Steve took us out and along the way shared some of his knowledge about the big island volcanos, sea caves and different growing regions of the big island and how the terrain effects the crops, specifically coffee and macadamia nuts. Being from Indiana I found this all fascinating. The snorkeling experience was so wonderful that my husband agreed to join me for the same tour the following day. Not being much of a swimmer, my husband had some apprehension about going, but when I shared with him how safe I felt, he agreed to give it a try! Captain Kendra led our second tour and since there were 11 people on this tour, Natalie came along as Kendra’s first officer. Kendra and Natalie were both very personable and got to know each member of the tour. There was one tour member who had a little trouble with the fast boat ride, but Natalie talked her through it and by the time we reached our snorkeling spot she was fine. During the ride, Kendra shared loads of fun island facts and answered numerous questions. She has such a great attitude and made the boat ride so much fun - she clearly loves her job!
So many pros about this tour I can’t begin to list them, but I will say the fresh fruit and other treats sure hit the spot after snorkeling. You don’t even realize you’re hungry until taste that fresh pineapple!
Trust me, Take the tour! And if you see Captain Kendra, Natalie or Captain Steve, tell them Melanie from Indiana said hello!
