We enjoyed our time in Alaska, and I am catching up on reviews. We took the early morning Denali Highway Jeep Excursion July 15th. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day, and Jeff was a fabulous guide. An enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide makes all the difference. Jeff clearly loves his job, and his passion for enjoying the beauty of Alaska is contagious. We made several stops along Denali Highway and had the opportunity to take lots of pictures. Because the day was so nice and clear, we were treated to a little bonus. Jeff took us a few miles past the normal tour route in order for us to view Glacier Row. Wow! Wildlife was scarce, but near the end of our trip we saw two yearling moose enjoying lunch very close to the highway. That was the closest we saw moose our entire trip so we were pretty happy.
Each Jeep seats four people so my husband and I were partnered with another gentleman and his son. It’s always nice to meet new people, and my husband and the gentleman both enjoyed driving. Snacks and bottled water are included as well as a bathroom break at a campground. The Jeep tour was a nice way to spend our last morning in Denali before taking a train to Fairbanks.
