A car is just a car, but Ann, Terry and the team provide much more. Local history, color and directions. They are unbelievably helpful. They seem to know everyone along the Parks Highway and can provide invaluable travel assistance, akin to your own guide.
As an example, we arrived at the train station (on a bus from a lodge) earlier than expected. I called Ann and she dropped what she was doing to pick us up.
Going back to Anchorage, Ann checked our bags onto the train. Did she know something special? She put them into a bin at a very out of the way part of the station and that bin was first off in Anchorage.
If you need a car in Denali, this is the (only) place to go. If you do, tell Ann that "Phil Scones" recommended you. If you can, bring Ann 2 scones (preferably from Tonglen Lake Lodge). Blueberry is her favorite, but any scone will do.
