Czego oczekiwać
1
Plantacja Destrehana
Odbierz z hotelu w Nowym Orleanie, aby rozpocząć tę łączoną wycieczkę jednodniową, która trwa nieco ponad 6 godzin. Najpierw odwiedź plantację Destrehan, zbudowaną w 1787 roku i wpisaną do Krajowego Rejestru Miejsc Historycznych.

Rezerwat Barataria
Te wycieczki to prawdziwa frajda! To wyjątkowe doświadczenie.

Destrehan Plantation
Get picked up at your hotel in New Orleans to begin this combination day tour, which lasts a little more than 6 hours. First, visit the Destrehan Plantation, built in 1787 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Travel through time from the French and Spanish Colonial periods through the Antebellum grandeur of the sugar barons to the ravages of the Civil War and the rebirth of reconstruction. You will find yourself immersed in the rich history of Louisiana when French was the language, and the white gold of sugar drove the economy. An 1811 slave revolt museum/cabin is on the grounds along with its massive oak trees. Family stories of those free and enslaved set against the fabric of history will intrigue every visitor to the site. A house tour is approximately 1 hour, with time to walk the grounds and see the slave cabin. This includes time for lunch (own expense) if time permits.

Barataria Preserve
Next, head for the swamp that's only 35 minutes from New Orleans - yet a world away. An airboat adventure is a high speed adventure that is part tour and part ride. You will experience the best of both: a swamp tour and an airboat ride. You will travel at high speeds in the airboat then slow down and stop for pictures. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local captain. The airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. So every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife.

The actual tours were amazing but the transportation (pick up and drop off) were terrible. I am a black woman and I was amazed at how nice the woman driver was to the white travelers but as rude as she could be to myself and my daughter. I was very disappointed and hurt at the treatment. Like I said the plantation tour was so informative. The swamp tour guide Captain Ernie was hilarious and very knowledgeable as well. Being the only black people on the tour I definitely felt it from the staff. I suggest some coaching on customer service skills.

The Destrehan Plantation was absolutely spectacular. Beverly, our tour guide, was fabulous and exceptionally well-versed in the history of the place. The boat ride, however, was miserable. Not any fault of the captain, but it was freezing cold. All we could think was when will this torture be over. I have never been so cold and, the place Would rent you a blanket!!! C'mon! If you are doing these tours in the winter LOAN a blanket! Or else, don't offer this boat tour in the winter. We were there on Jan 10th.
