A group of us joined this tour in October 2019. The experience did not live up to expectations. The tour was also a bit more pricey than other dolphin experience tours we found because you were supposed to get to swim with dolphins. Here is why the tour did not live up to expectations:
First of all, the tour size was too big. There were close to 50 people on the boat. It was very crammed. When we got into the water, they told us to stay close so that there would be a higher chance for dolphins to swim close to us. The problem was that the people ahead of you were kicking in your face and you were also kicking someone else behind you. I also had a feeling that because we were a big group, making a lot of splashes and noises, the dolphins did not come close to us. In fact, we saw a lot of them when we were on the boat, but as soon as we got into the water, the dolphins dived deep into the ocean, very far from us. They were nowhere as close to us as the pictures on the site suggest. Of course, they would say they have no control over how wildlife behaves. I do think going with a smaller group would have a better chance of getting closer.
Secondly, they provide no instructions for those who were first time snorkelers (e.g. how to use the masks, how to place the masks so water does not get in). It was pretty freaky because the waves were pretty strong that day.
Thirdly, we purchased a photo and video package. Do not waste your money on that. They took a few pictures of the group of us on the boat, but made no effort to take pictures of us while we were in the water. I would not recommend the package at all.
While the experience was not as we had expected, I would have to say the crew members did a good job keeping the adventure lively.

Aloha:
Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your tour. We greatly apologize your experience did not live up to expectations. We've shared your feedback with our management to make sure that it is addressed.
We are currently working on the best way to mitigate the feeling of being crammed, either on the boat or in the water. We will be implementing changes to our procedure, which include splitting into two groups while swimming to meet the dolphins, and having more emphasis on personal space and general respect for others while in the water.
All who book our tour receive a safety video presentation by email and on the bus ride to the harbor. It is mandatory to watch, and it covers both how to swim with the dolphins (without splashing or making too much noise) and also the best way to wear snorkel gear. We also provide safety instructions on the boat first-thing after boarding. Safety is our top priority.
In order to fully address what you've brought up, including the lacking photo and video package, we will need to know the name and date of your booking. If you reach out to us either by emailing
[email protected] or by responding to the TripAdvisor message we sent, we will continue working with you to make sure your complaints are resolved.
Thank you kindly,
Dolphins and You
