They should have canceled the tour like my other tours did. With the stronger currents they would rather make $130/person and jam pack a boat of 60 people than give a great experience. They wouldn't let us go into the ocean to swim with the dolphins because of the amount of people on the boat and the strong currents - so we sat on the boat and watched ANOTHER tour with much less people go off and swim with the dolphins! It was a huge disappointment and I am very upset that I wasted my time and money while I was in Hawaii. I am so thankful for my other tours who were honest, canceled, and refunded the money.

The weather, ocean conditions and animal behavior are unfortunately out of our control. And our captains sometimes need to make the call that the conditions are unsafe. We would only cancel our tour if we were aware of unsafe weather conditions in advance. For days that the conditions turn unexpectedly, we plan experiences throughout the whole day for the rare case that this may happen, but we do understand that it can be disappointing. However, we want to work with you to see what else we can improve. We have responded to your messages through VIATOR and are working with you to meet your requests. Best trip and definitely worth the money. You get to see dolphins and much more. It was a great experience and the staff was awesome.

We had excitedly booked this tour as my partner wanted to swim with wild dolphins and based on reviews on here picked Dolphins and You. Whilst I was happy to just watch dolphins he booked a swim with dolphins ticket (156) and booked a watch dolphins ticket (129) Firstly, they were late picking us up, then came the sales pitch to sell photo packages($79.95USD!) and they show you photos on an iPad they have taken before. What they don’t tell you is those photos aren’t from any tour of theirs. As all of their photos you will be wearing a yellow life vest (understandably for safety) but these aren’t in the photos they show you as examples My partner happily purchased the photo package as he didn’t want to worry about taking photos himself during the tour. We get there and discover they actually have 2 buses for each tour so 70 people on total going on the one boat. It was packed! We set off and all seemed ok until the first ‘drop’. This is where they rush everyone into the water to see the dolphins who paid for a swim with dolphins ticket. They hurriedly start yelling at everyone to jump jump jump! Into the water and about maybe not even half the guest were in the water for all of about 5mins they call everyone back. They said the water was too dangerous to swim today and it will be a watch only tour. Ok that is absolutely fine, safety obviously needs to be priority. So remember I didn’t pay to swim with the dolphins but my partner did and my experience so far was exactly the same as his as he didn’t even get a chance to get into the water. We did see some pods of dolphins from the boat for about 20mins then we headed further towards land and they got the boat ready for the snorkel swim. Again pretty chaotic. Both of our tickets also included the snorkel so we both jumped in and looked for some sea life and apart from a few fish and some dead coral it was all pretty bland. Waterslide was our for about 15mins then rolled back up again. We snorkel for about 20mins max Back on the boat they head back to the dock and we had lunch. As we approached closer to the dock they turned on party music and we watched as the male staff members on the boat danced inappropriately with female guest. It all felt very reductive. Finally we get back to the pier and back on the bus to be told ‘as we didn’t get to see dolphins here is 10% off the next tour’. However this is all smoke and mirrors as this card they give everyone on every tour if you give them feedback. So In fact they offered nothing. To summarise here are the main concerns -If I had the same experience on a different ticket they should refund the difference of the swim vs watch tickets to those that couldn’t swim on that day because they canceled the swim. Btw there was another tour out on the water swimming with dolphins. -My partner has asked for a refund on the photo package which should be offered AFTER the tour. -They emailed us for feedback and their from automatically redirects you to giving them feedback directly if you give them less then 4 stars. But if you click 4 or more it asks for you to write a Trip Advisor/Google/Yelp review. Clearly this is why they have so many good reviews. Very deceiving. Finally I did email them before posting this and got the standard canned response. As I’m expecting them to reply to this review on here if you check most reviews on here they are all pretty stock standard no empathy or care for the customer. I’ll help you in advance my tour was on 25 August at 11am.

Aloha Sam, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. As with your email to us, we have read and reflected on each of the thoughts you have brought up. It's saddening to hear that our commitment to following up on customer feedback is seen as inauthentic. None of our responses are canned. Our reviews are the guiding force of our company, reinforcing our strengths and alerting us of our areas for improvement. We genuinely do take them seriously, and they are passed around to all those in management on a daily basis. I'll respond point-by-point to your concerns: Our media package: This is the first time we have heard that our photographer's preview of their best photos is ineffective. We allow our photographers to present their own favorite individual underwater photos from their photography careers to reassure our guests that they are professionals in their field. But it's true that these are the photographers' 'best of the best' shots and are not always a representation of every tour. We do however have a physical laminate on the back of each bus seat, which previews real tour photos of guests (including the yellow life jackets). There is also a preview of these photos on our booking form and throughout our social media. You may be happy to hear that we will also be including a link to an actual media package on our website and iPads on the busses for guests to look over before purchasing. Crew behavior: We are certainly concerned to hear that our crew may have been dancing in a way that was inappropriate. I have explained that we will work with our crew to ensure they are behaving appropriately for our family-friendly tour. We expect our crew to be ambassadors of aloha, and we do not tolerate inappropriate or unkind behavior. Swimming with or watching dolphins: The behavior of the dolphins and ocean conditions are out of our control. We cannot guarantee swimming with or seeing wild dolphins. We do not grant refunds based on the dolphin's behavior. This is why we provide so many other activities throughout the tour. But we do understand how disappointing not seeing dolphins can be. After our initial email reply, our general manager also reached out over the phone to confirm a media package refund and matching the watch rate for your tour as a demonstration of our commitment to your satisfaction. We hope your impression of Dolphins and You might be improved after working with us to improve. Lastly, it is true that any negative ratings are sent directly to us so that we are alerted of them immediately and can act to improve. We respond to each and forward each to all management so that we can promptly address any serious concerns. The form also includes an indication of the guest's booking name and when they were on board, which review forums do not. This helps us determine who was working that day in case we need to follow up with specific staff. It's important that we are aware of any customers who are dissatisfied as soon as possible so that any imminent problems are brought to us directly for the sake of our company's improvement.
