I have rented a lot of e-bikes in various islands of Hawai'i and French Polynesia on a cruise in the last month. In all those experiences, I don't think I've met anyone who does a better job of serving the e-bike renter than Keola and Savannah. This is a new small business, but Keola is a native of Hilo and has worked at Volcanoes National Park for 26 years. His knowledge and feeling for the home of Pele is unparalleled. I did two rides - one from Hilo north to Akaka Falls, and one to Kilauea. The bikes were excellent and in good repair. In both cases, either Savannah or Keola met me at the cruise ship dock and brought me back there after the ride was finished. I had a great time on both visits. If you really want to see the volcano, or explore the area around beautiful Hilo, Hawa Ebikes is absolutely the best way to do it.
