Halona Blowhole

Halona Blowhole
Description: Halona Beach Cove on the south-eastern shore of Oahu at the foot of Koko Crater is a beach that gained popularity after the shooting of the movie "From here to eternity" on the location in 1953. The beach is small and sandy pocketed on three side by steep, jagged lava rock. The site offers an ideal location for swimming but caution must be taken and not attempt swimming when the surf is rough. Outside of the protected area, the current can often be quite strong and the water turbulent. The beach is hidden from view from the parking. Access requires going down a steep path. Although the path is easy, care should be taken as the rocks are slippery and sharp. You should always wear shoes to hike the rocks to reach the beach.

Our tour with Julie was truly wonderful and well worth it. She was very flexible in our itinerary and we were able to see everything we wanted. For example, we mentioned that we liked poke, so she brought us to a great local spot. We wanted to visit a few other spots on the fly and she was able to make it happen. She is a local and is very knowledgeable about Oahu, which I appreciated. She knows all the ins and outs of Oahu, which comes in handy. Most of all I appreciated how she was able to put our group at ease in any situation. She’s also a great conversationalist, and really made our tour enjoyable. I’ve been with many other tour operators and this is definitely one of my best experiences. Thanks for a great time!

Julie was excellent. She was in contact with us since we arrived on the island. Very friendly, courteous and informational. Although it was pouring rain at times we thoroughly enjoyed our excursion especially our meal at the Giovanni Shrimp Truck. We highly recommend this tour guide and this tour.
