Przegląd

The Matanuska Glacier is the largest and most magnificent glacier in Alaska with road access. We will drive you to within about 1/2 mile of the face of the glacier, where we'll start our hike. We'll be hiking on the glacier for two to two and a half hours, and walk about 2 to 3 miles. There is little elevation change, and the hike difficulty is rated as moderate.

The glacier is about a two-hour drive from Anchorage. We will stop about half way there for a restroom break, where you will also have the opportunity to purchase coffee and whatever you'd like to have to eat while we're out. Bottled water is provided.

Lori picked me up on time from my hotel. There was another couple doing the same tour, so we were 3 people. On the way to the glacier, Lori told us a lot about the city of Anchorage and the towns we passed by. When we arrived, we got those ice spikes on, and there was another couple joining us. Nick was the guide who walked with us to the glacier, and I gotta say, his knowledge and enthusiasm for ice is refreshing (ha - get it?) He also got looots of bad jokes in his pocket, but that's what made the tour extra fun! The glacier itself was really beautiful, it's incredible what mother nature is capable of!

This was an INCREDIBLE experience!! Well worth the money and time. Ryan provided excellent hospitality during the transportation to and from the Matanuska glacier. His communication was high before the day of the event. Upon arrival to the glacier, Adam and his team were so nice and clearly passionate for what they do. Adam was our glacier guide and he was AMAZING! He made sure were all safe, having a good time, and so knowledgeable. This is a MUST DO if you are planning a trip to Alaska!! You will not regret it!
