Our guide James was great, such a sweet and gentle man. We did the drive the day before on our own and it was spectacular, but having a local Navajo guide take you on the back trails and show you sites that you just can't see on your on is the way to go. BTW we did the 3.5 hour culture tour.

We did the long tour which includes several features not open to the general public. We paid $80 apiece for the tour which ended up being 3 hours. Our guide was Larry Team who did a great job giving us the history of the area and also sang a Navajo song for us which was beautiful. The road is very very rough and it might seem like a lot of money but save yourself some stress and don’t try to drive it yourself
