As a family of 9 we visit a new destination every year during the week of December 26th. Exploring various options to visit the grand canyon the advertisement for the skywalk at the west rim seemed like a deal of a lifetime (extra cost to walk on the skywalk), however what is not disclosed is that you waste most of your 3 hour visit standing in lines from the time the bus drops you off until it is time to walk out on the skywalk. You stand in a line to get your ticket scanned, then you stand in line to catch a shuttle to the skywalk, and then you stand in line to get into the building to enter the skywalk (long lines). Once you enter the building after standing in line for 45 minutes outside, you stand in line again and move throughout the building in a longer line to get to a locker room where you are guided by some very tired, overworked, rude workers that forbid you to bring a bag, cell phone, camera etc. out on the skywalk. Once you walk through the metal detector to ensure that you did not sneak your phone, there is yet another line for you to take pictures sponsored by the skywalk ($$$$). Hum interesting after you have paid extra to be able to even walk out on the skywalk and enjoy the view, you can't because the entire time on the skywalk you are bombarded with the photographers taking pictures of those luck patrons that chose (are bullied into buying photos) to be gullible and partake in the money pit scam where once you see your photos you will buy them. Do not buy the skywalk - it is not worth it. After being shuffled through the skywalk maze like cattle you board the shuttle bus to the next stop on the tour - Guano Point where we were able to get in a few photos but unfortunately only had 15 minutes to take in the view because much of our time was wasted thinking we were going to have the walk of a lifetime and enjoy the skywalk view. I can say Dirk our bus coach driver was awesome and it starting snowing at Guano point which was beautiful. If you are planning to take this trip DO NOT PURCHASE THE SKYWALK! December 28, 2021.

We are so sorry you experienced lengthy lines at the Skywalk during your West Rim tour. Unfortunately we have no control over the crowds, and we have found that wait times are very unpredictable. As you discovered, the holiday season brings larger crowds which you saw all over the West Rim. So glad Dirk provided you with a memorable tour experience and that you enjoyed the magnificent views and I agree, the light snow adds a nice touch to the tour. Thank you for your feedback and please come and see us soon. Happy New Year!
