Our signature flightseeing and glacier landing tour, includes 30 mins of flightseeing and 30 mins landed at 3 Glacier areas including on the glacier itself. This tour includes an alpine landing where you will have 30 mins to see the grand size of the 5 mile wide and 29 mile long Knik Glacier with a birds eye view. Your 2nd landing takes you to a 100 foot ice wall where you may even be able to see the massive ice calve . After 30 minutes exploring you go to the glacier landing right in the middle of Knik Glacier, where you can get out of the helicopter and spend about 30 minutes exploring ancient ice. See the azure blue melt pools (summer), crevasses and ice formations created by water, wind and the sun. During your flight seeing, keep your eyes open for the area wildlife to include Moose, Mountain Goats, Dall Sheep, Bears and even wolf on occasion!

Restaurant Service is available on site May 1 - September 30. Snacks are available year round for purchase.
WINTER TOURS - October - April -we are unable to land on top of the glacier due to snow cover. We will land next to the glaciers near the massive ice formations
Guests 300lbs or over require our Astar Helicopter to fly. This is not available for every time/day.Please call direct to assure we have that helicopter available to accommodate prior to booking.
Comfort surcharge applied for anyone over 250lbs. This allows us to block out an additional seat for safety and comfort
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
NOT PERMITTED: DRONES-SMOKING ITEMS (VAPES/LIGHTERS/E-CIG)-FIREARMS-BAGS/BACKPACKS/LOOSE STRAPS - please leave all bags in the vehicle or we do have lockers to store them

This is a splurge but definitely worth it. The glacier was truly an amazing sight. Our helicopter pilot Pam was great! She landed on the glacier and took some photos of our family. Thank you to Bridget for recommending we go to Hatcher’s Pass while in the area. It made for a great day.

My wife, daughter, and I flew with Jeff to the Knik Glacier. We were all smiles all the way. We weren't sure everyone would enjoy the helo ride but it was very smooth and the scenery was amazing! Jeff landed us on a level part of the glacier and broke out a pair of crampons for each of us. He led the way and we walked around for a pretty long time thoroughly checking out a beautiful glacier pond which had a very deep blue hole in the middle. We enjoyed this trip so much we immediately signed up for the dog sled adventure. Peter helped us coordinate a time when we would be back in the area. Everything was very smooth and delightful!

Our first time in Alaska and we wanted to make it a memorable experience. Anchorage Helicopter Tours successfully helped us with our goal! From the booking experience through the tour, they were incredibly efficient, helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Confidence inspiring all around. We booked the tour with Peter who went out of his way to make the schedule work for our dates. It felt like he went above and beyond to arrange things for us to tour on the July 4th holiday! He even offered us 2 smaller helicopters instead of 1 large one so we can film each other during the tour! One the day of tour, part of a group had apprehension of flying since it was their first time. The check in process and the helicopters pilots did a wonderful job at removing their fear. Pam, the pilot of our helicopter, took off first and her smooth accent removed any lingering doubts. Adam, the other pilot, was the on-glacier tour guide. He was very knowledgable and knew the amazing features of the glacier to showcase. The Knik glacier is a truly magnificent natural wonder that reminded me that there is so much more to life then the regular day-to-day. We walked away planning for what the next tour will be with Anchorage Helicopter Tours!!
