My husband and I visited Miami last weekend hoping for a deep sea fishing experience to remember. Our hotel recommended the Reward Fleet. It was the worst $110 dollars ever spent. We paid for a 4 hour fishing trip. The trip began with an hour boat ride out to a spot where the crew could fish for bait fish for themselves to use (not their customers.) None of us had even put our poles in the water and had not idea what they were doing until they started yelling "fish on" and reeling their bait fish in. After 15-20 minutes of doing that, we drove for another 30 minutes or so to a spot for everyone to drift fish. The crew baited our hooks with small dead fish as bait and told us to put our lines in the water. Any time we reeled our lines in to check our bait, there were small bites taken out of our bait by small fish and we had to wait for someone to put a new fish on our hooks. Meanwhile, the crew was on the front and back of the ship using live bait for kite fishing or artificial bait for jigging. Shockingly, they were the only ones catching fish. Instead of taking their customers and letting them try these different techniques, they just continued to let us waste our time on worthless fishing techniques while the crew caught all of the fish. We fished for a total of about 1 1/2 hours out of our paid 4 hours. The most pathetic thing was that at the end they tried to sell us all on the "amazing experience" highlighting the fish that were caught (without mentioning that these fish were only caught by themselves.) Then they even had the nerve to ask for tips. I wouldn't have minded giving a tip for a great experience if they had simply tried to make it that. These people are con artists who take peoples money for their own recreational fishing. Along with that, they had a couple of women who appeared to be either friends or family of the crew on board. One of the women was a chain smoker which being asthmatic myself does not mesh well when you're on a small boat together. It was incredibly rude that the crew even allowed that and it only added to our already miserable experience.

We wanted to experience deep sea fishing while we were in Miami. This was an experience the toilets were unclean the interior of the boat had definitely seen better days and we were late leaving. The "deck hand" was very efficient loading up the rods with bait and making sure everyone had equipment and bait during the duration of the trip. The main problem was we spent more time untangling lines because there were too many people too close together than we actually did fishing. Not sure I would book with company again.

I've been on this boat over 15 and I've nearly always enjoyed it. I mostly go by myself, sometimes I go with my mother and sister. The pros out wait the negatives in my opinion. Amazing crew members, especially Hadrian,Bernie and Office Jeff. Always there, if there was any problem and quick to solve it. They stop at nothing to help you. The locations seems the same, though the fish are definitely different. The boat is clean and very well maintained. It is an all around very enjoyable trip. Though there are some negatives. The toilets do not flush, or at least no one flushes it, this doesn't bother a lot of people though. The price is to high especially if you are a tourist. Vicky is a bit arrogant and not very friendly, on the other hand Jeff is very nice. The 2 worst problems are : 1) very often it is overcrowded, tons of people on the boat. Due to some factors everyone has to be on one side of the boat at daytime, causing a lot or lines to tangles. I lost a nice bonito because of the lines tangling. At night time it is better because there is no restriction to placement. 2) the diversity of the fish. At daytime you mostly catch bonitos, which are worthless in terms of food. Sometimes you get king fish, snappers and rarely Bilfish. At night you get all types of small snappers, grunts and rarely grouper. I notice that often, people catch fish that are too small to keep yet hide them in the cooler, the mates don't notice it and it's frustrating, because, fish like yellowtail snappers' population is decreasing and those people aren't helping, if the people with the illegal fish are caught, the reward fleet is punished. The mates name all these fish like cobia but I've never seen one. BIG problem with fishing at night is, the back of the boat is the best place to fish. People at the back catch buckets full of fish while other fish catch way less. The back is reserved to friends of the mates/cap, which i find quite unjust. Comparison day and night. Night: night time is great if you are impatient, you got bites every 20 seconds, though half of he time the fish are too small to keep. Night is very relaxing too, you go to pretty shallow water around 40ft. Day: day is for more seasoned anglers. We fish at around 150-200 ft and catch a lot less fish, mostly bonitos. If your patient you can catch big muttons, kingfish, amberjack, Spanish macks and tuna.
