I'm one of those tourists that sticks to the familiar and the easily accessible. I don't rent cars, generally and I stick close to home base.
Shutter Tours offers an easy way to get out of the downtown Seattle area and out to see sights I would not otherwise have seen with the Snoqualmie Falls and City tour.
Terry (our guide) and Tracy (our driver) were fantastic. Lots of great info and tidbits on Seattle, its history, and its present. Terry was happy to provide photo tips for whatever level - from the most basic composition tips to more advanced information on shutter speeds and aperture.
The small group (ours was 12 people) make the tour much more user-friendly than the giant 30-40 person tours. You can interact as much or as little as you like - perfect for a super introvert like myself. Not a lot of walking - a short trail to the viewing platform at the falls, and the same at Ballard Locks. The Locks trail was a bit of an incline, but even with a bum knee, it was perfectly fine for me.
The stops were all lovely, though I would have gladly traded the chocolate tasting stop for a bit more time at the falls.
The timing of the tour was spot-on. I was picked up at my hotel just before 10, and we left Pike Place Market very shortly after 10. We made our first drop-off at the cruise terminal just before 2:30.
It should go without saying, but make sure you bring your camera (and that the battery is charged!). Wear shoes you can walk in. Enjoy the trip!
