The scenic float was a great way to take in the beautiful views in relative calm. We were prepared to go wearing hiking pants and windbreakers, as it was a relatively cool day for late June. However, the Glacier Raft Company asked people to wear wetsuits and had their own waterproof windbreakers for us to wear. We were comfortable temperature-wise during the float and appreciated the care they took. My personal sense is that they were being a bit overcautious but, hey, I guess an abundance of caution is better than not enough. It was a very safe, calm float down the river. In fact, a bit too calm for our teenage son, who wished that we had done the whitewater rafting version instead! The rest of the family enjoyed the lack of adrenaline involved with the scenic float. This is perfect for kids of all ages, from toddler to (ahem) teen. Our guide Matthew was delightful and very knowledgeable about the river. He navigated the various currents and (minor) rapids with skill. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Glacier!
