Save your money. The trip was advertised as 5-6hours. After two hours the captain announced we were returning to Seattle harbor. I was in disbelief. The captain did not even try. Well, to stretch the time to 4 hours, he decided to give a Seattle Harbor tour, one I had done two days earlier with Argosy (another company). We did see a pod of orcas, but please bring binoculars. No other whales. Again, the captain did not even try. Please advertise that the trip would last for 3-6 hours. instead of 5-6. Another passenger guessed that the short trip was probably due to gas prices, but the $157 ($129 + tax + FUEL SURCHARGE) included the surcharge. The Captain likely had another engagement and was eager to enjoy the rest of the Saturday. I paid to see whales...not for a harbor tour). I am certain that had the captain spent another hour that we had paid for, he would have seen a whale or another pod, even if I did not see another whale, I would be happy had I been out to sea for 4-6 hours.

Hi, sorry to hear you were disappointed with the trip. The window of time is offered to allow for transit as whale location on any given day is of course, unpredictable. Sometimes they are close to Seattle, sometimes further away. So glad you saw transient killer whale orcas! And yes, as part of the Pacific Whale Watching Association, we adamantly abide by all requirements for viewing distances.
