Discover why Lexington, Kentucky is known as the Horse Capital of the World on this 3.5-hour narrated tour with transportation provided on a comfortable 14-person passenger van. The tour is not all on the van, though, as destination stops are made at world famous Keeneland Race Course* and one or more of the beautiful Thoroughbred horse farms that combine to make the Lexington region the true epicenter of Thoroughbred breeding in the United States ... and beyond.

All tours are given by very experienced local guides who share a wealth of stories about the history of the local area, farms, bourbon production and the Thoroughbred horse -- the world's most desired breed for winning the world's most prestigious races.

* NOTE: All tour itineraries can vary/change depending on changing destination and farm availability on the specific day of the tour. This is true for all of the venues (including Keeneland at its discretion) and the Thoroughbred horse farms.

November 12th - March 10th: Minimum numbers of 4 guests are required to run tour.
Under Kentucky law, a farm animal activity sponsor, farm animal professional, or other person does not have the duty to eliminate all risks of injury of participation in farm animal activities. "There are inherent risks of injury that you voluntarily accept if you participate in farm animal activities." "By purchasing ticket/s you agree that Thoroughbred Heritage Tours is not liable for any injuries or death that may occur due to participating in a farm animal activity in Kentucky".
There is no age limit but a ticket is required for all children. It is not recommended for children under six. Kentucky State Law requires infants and/or toddlers must be in a car seat, rear facing until 2 years of age. Children younger than 8 years old and between 40 and 57 inches must be in a booster. Children younger than 8 but taller than 57 inches do not have to ride in a booster seat.

Daniel was our tour guide and he made the tour so enjoyable. His wealth of knowledge about Thoroughbred Horses was totally amazing. Loved, loved getting to pet the horses and to be at the various farms. Also loved going to the Racetrack and seeing the beautiful horses training.

Vicky the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. We live in Lexington, my husband is a life long resident and I've been here 40 years and we learned ALOT! It was an afternoon well spent. I think we could have skipped the Keeneland Gift Shop, nobody bought a thing and instead driven through instead of just past the Horse Park.

This is a must do if visiting Lexington. We had only a day and the 3 hours we spent with Vicki were great. She’s owned horses for over 30 years and she knew so much trivia and inside knowledge that we felt the impact of the horse industry. Small group of 10 of us with three stops for some walking at Keeneland track and two horse farms where we were able to pet the horses. Great value. We Highly recommend! Ask for Vicki!
