Frieda grew-up in the Satmar Hasidic community and hence is very knowledgeable about this community. This is not a tour where you gawk at the people but a tour of respectfulness. She is, fortunately for the 14 people on the tour, very flexible - our bus was delayed by an hour and a half and she accommodated that delay. She answered question after question with stories, humor and great insight. And to top it off we had great food tastings.

The tour was fascinating and highly informative, and also so helpful in helping to try and understand a community that may seem so mysterious to outsiders. Frieda was the best of guides, having been an insider, and she answered all questions with very much openness. We learned so much, it was really fascinating. Plus she always made sure we were comfortable and even provided headphones so that we could hear her better. And yes the Passover amidon starch cookies were good ! Thank you Frieda for your enthousiasm and will to share. We loved the tour and will definitely recommend it !

We went on a fantastic tour of Hasidic Williamsburg with Frieda. Frieda was an amazing guide; very informative and knowledgable and also very open about her own experiences of growing up within the Satmar Hasidic community which we were touring. We walked along the streets and Frieda pointed out many interesting details; shops, cafes, buildings and told us a lot about the customs, holidays and customs of the community. What was moving and unique was Friedas description of her own upbringing and her own difficulties and issues with some of the customs and culture of this very strict and regimented Hasidic group. She answered all our questions and talked about the community and described the pros and cons of each type of life; within and without the community. We also stopped off in a bakery where Frieda encouraged us to choose and taste different cakes and at the end of the tour we stopped off and sat down in a cafe where Frieda answered some of our questions. All this food was included in the price of the tour. I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour and this tour guide to anyone interested in Hasidism and in hearing about what it's like to grow up in a Hasidic community. It was fantastic!
