This was a horror show, but in a bad way. First, I have been on ghost tours and pub crawls all over the world. Most have been awesome. We especially love doing combo ghost/pub crawl tours. This one failed as both a ghost tour and as a pub crawl. Of the dozens we have done, only this one in Denver and one in Budapest were bad.
The guide on this tour seemed really new to the field (the tour was forgettable, so I apologize if I get the name wrong, but I think it was something like Brittany). She was not engaging. Didn’t like to take questions. She acted like questions were a burden. She didn’t interact much with the participants.
On the ghost tour side, the stories were told in a really juvenile way. Felt very cursory. Not deep. More like a quick Wikipedia search.
On the pub crawl side, there was no effective education on the types of drinks available or tying the drinks back to the time period of the stories. We have been on combo ghost and pub crawl tours. Every other combo has been great, weaving ghost story telling with history on the establishment and the drinks seamlessly. Not this one. It seemed canned, unoriginal and just not worth it.
The best ghost stories actually came from our fellow attendees who had knowledge about the different places we toured. That’s pretty sad.
Finally, do yourself a favor. Do some additional research on this tour before you book. Click on every review made in Oct. 2019 and before. Check to see how many of these 5 Star reviews were completed by someone who has done ONLY ONE review on TripAdvisor. By way of comparison, I have made over 280 contributions on TripAdvisor. Do your homework and buyer beware. My first-hand experience says this clearly is not a 5 star tour. It barely merited a 1 Star rating, in my opinion.
