Your guide will orient you to the area of East Cemetery Hill which is the location of heavy fighting during the Battle of Gettysburg before you enter the National Soldiers Orphanage Homestead. This building was used as the headquarters for General O.O. Howard during the battle and was also use as a hospital during and after the battle. After the end of the Civil War the building was turned into an orphanage for children whose fathers were lost during the American Civil War. That is where our story begins...

Our family of four took the 10:30pm combo tour of the Jennie Wade house and the Haunted Orphanage on Sat the 4th. My 12 year old was scared since the whole tour was mostly in the dark, but still had a great time. Our tour guide Eric did a phenomenal job!! We will be back for a tour during the day so we can see them both up and close. I would, and will, recommend this tour to all my friends and family.

If you like the supernatural, or even if you don't, you'll really enjoy taking one of the tours offered by this company. My husband and I took the Haunted Orphanage Tour and absolutely loved it. The history of the building and the orphanage is interesting by itself, but when you add the stories of the apparitions seen it's even better. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and his renditions of the different sightings had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time. If we have time before we go home we plan to go to the other haunted tour they offer at the Jenny Wade house as well. Definitely recommend!

We did the orphanage tour. Our guide was wonderful, knowledgeable, and spoke clearly and loud enough for us to hear him. Not at all what we expected. The first half is sitting in the old dining room and then more sitting in the basement (you do get a chance to get up and see a different part of the basement then it's back to sitting and listening) and listening to your guide tell stories and a little history of the orphanage. Next you move outside and stand around and listen to more stories and some history about a few places around the orphanage. Then your done. This is not by any means a "ghost tour".
