First I need to say that our host was great. She was very knowledgeable, nice and laid back, perfect for a walking tour. We never felt rushed. Plus, all the places we went were delicious.
The problems for me were in the structure. You start at a meat sampling (loved the place and it was a good choice to have on the tour) where your whole group is asked to share a platter. It’s unclear how many each person gets of each kind of meat. So it’s the painfully awkward situation where no one wants to take the last one of each meat. It would be simple to avoid this: just put out one a small plate for each person or at least a plate per couple.
Next, at the main restaurant, again, the whole group is given 3 or 4 tapas to share, making it awkward. Plus, 3 tapas among 6 people just isn’t a lot of food. This really shouldn’t be the case and again made it awkward.
The wine tasting was structured well and probably the best part for me. No complaints! The host at this place was so fun and willing to answer questions and chat.
The tea tasting was also neat, but I wish they wouldn’t have taken our cups away because there was still more tea in the tea pot and I would of liked to taste a few of them a second time. What a waste?
Dessert was also good. You each select one dessert. I was okay with this but I think I rather would have had an actual tasting of maybe three or 4 bite sizes of different things.
All the food we tasted was delicious and the choices of where they take you are spot on. But I wouldn’t say we were full or felt like we had a meal. We ended up going to another place after and each having another tapas.
I probably sound like I’m complaining a lot, but I think these things are basic things that can be fixed. I wish the company well and hope this input helps.
