I wish I had been able to book this tour on the first day we arrived in Healdsburg. Tammy does such a great job of showcasing out of the way places. She's very knowledgable and very friendly. Anyways, The Mrs. and I met Tammy outside SHED. We were the only ones booked for that day, so we basically got a private tour of Healdsburg. So neat! We started at SHED, where Tammy explained the philosophy behind the store/restaurant. We entered the store and got a brief tour of the produce section, market area and deli. We were then seated in the dining area and sampled a mezze plate of beet tzatziki, lentil hummus and wheat berry salad with homemade crisps. After that we took a leisurely stroll past the square to Cafe Lucia. Cafe Lucia specializes in Portuguese cuisine, which I have never had before. We had a very nice chat with the owner and sampled home made rolls and a sea scallop appetizer. After Cafe Lucia we walked past the square on our way to the Portalupi Winery tasting room. On our way to the tasting room, Tammy pointed out all sorts of interesting facts about the different buildings in Healdsburg and restaurants that we were walking past. At Portalupi we had some amazing wine paired with small bites. I thought the story behind the wine in the milk jugs was fantastic! We liked the wine here so much we joined the wine club! We then walked over to Bravas, where we enjoyed a couple of Spanish style tapas, especially the croquetas! Finally for dessert, we made our way over to Moustache Baked Goods where we sampled some of their amazing cupcakes. We were also tipped off to the fantastic ice cream and pie over at Noble Folk Ice Cream and Pie Bar. After roughly three plus hours of leisurely strolling and sampling wonderful food and wine, we parted ways with Tammy. If I ever come back to Healdsburg I am totally going to do this tour again. It was worth every penny!
