John H was our museum guide. We were very impressed, he gave us an educated overview of the main areas of the MET, and particular works of significance, that allowed us to then, with our Hello map, happily explore ourselves again afterwards. John H explained the difference between Egyptian and Greek sculpture, then shared his knowledge of European and American sculpture, showed us Henry VIII's armour in Army and Armour, then onto Leutze's monumental, albeit romanticized, depiction of George Washington's crossing of the Deleware, the significance of GW and his successful leadership to America being what it is today was moving, highlights after that John Sargent's work, Rembrandt's, Jacques David's, especially the loved-up chemists piece and their fate with the arrival of the French Revolution, van Gogh's works, Robin's. John H's passion for the topic and his sharing of the very human stories of the artists made this a memorable visit to the MET.
