I own a second home in Tucson and have been visiting for many years and rode through some neighborhoods I had not seen before and learned many facts about Tucson that I did not know Unlike another reviewer I liked the basic bike that was provided:most of the riding is flat(the biggest incline is going up the rattlesnake bridge) and there really is no need for gears. The bikes are new, retro appearing but very modern in their lightness You brake by going backwards on the pedals but there is also a front hand brake I thought the seat would become uncomfortable since there is no padding but we stopped so much it wasn't an issue Tucson is a great bike town and I was amazed at all the bike paths and crosswalks there were;I went on the 0900 tour and there were few cars out in the neighborhoods we rode through.Actually later on there were not as many cars as i expected so if you are a bit of a nervous rider there is no need to be.I never felt the need to slam on my brakes We had to cross a few major streets but with a walk signal it was not a problem. And with the flow of the tour most of the turns were right handed turns anyway! The only area where we needed to be a little more careful was when we biked through the U of A.Lots of people not paying attention so we needed to Tucson is a city of little neighborhoods and we got to look at the architecture and history of a lot of them Previously I had taken a walking tour following the blue lines that the tourist bureau had set up and it was nice to see that the two tours visit different places A lot of ground is covered in the time; we went over by quite a bit since we were the only riders and Jimmy did not have anybody booked for the next tour Highly recommended if you are visiting Tucson or a local wishing to do something a little different

Thank you for your review. I'm really glad to hear that even people who live in Tucson see and learn new things on the tour. That's definitely the goal. Thanks for the feedback on the bikes too. I'm glad you liked the bike, I certainly looked at dozens of different types before deciding on the two I felt were the best match for the tour. There are so many bikes on the market and it's impossible to match exactly what every person's preference is. I definitely agree that a single gear is perfectly fine for the route. It's flat. Good to hear about the seat being comfortable enough. I'm going to buy some gel seat covers for people who are interested in that. My own experience is that more padding does not make for a more comfortable seat, but I want to be prepared for a wide range of preferences. Thanks again for the feedback!

This was our favorite touring experience during our week visit to Tucson. Jimmy took us to several areas of Tucson and described a variety of interesting facts and tidbits of information on history, architecture, development, weather, and culture. It was a great way to experience and learn about its different neighborhoods and philanthropists at a leisurely pace. Jimmy is a Tucson historian sharing factual, relevant information. Many interesting local stories of people of Tucson's past. The bikes and equipment were current and in flawless condition. We loved the single speed! We felt very safe. If you want to learn about Tucson's history past and present up close and personal this is a perfect way to do so. We highly recommend it. Linda and Jack from Minnesota

"Learn about Tucson's past and present up close and personal." I couldn't of said it better myself. Thanks for the review and stay warm in Minnesota. I can't wait to get up there for some paddling this summer.

The tour was interesting and gave a perspective on Tucson history right at ground level. The guide was well informed and well researched. He obviously had passion for his work. The length of the tour was just right. My only complaint is with the single speed, coaster brake bikes, which i found tiring to ride and uncomfortable, especially in this start and stop situation.

Gary, Thanks for the feedback. I love my job, so I'm glad that shows. I sure wish you would have mentioned your issue with your bike during our shakedown ride in Ironhorse Park. As I mentioned, we have another type of bike which offers lever brakes and a step-thru frame, which for many people is easier for getting on and off. I will definitely show people the differences between the two bikes going forward. Sometimes looking at something is better than hearing about it. Thanks again for the feedback -- Jimmy
