Historic La Jolla Walking Tour

Przegląd
We are the Original and top rated La Jolla walking tour. Learn the rich history of La Jolla. Uncover hidden gems and “Easter Eggs”. Score tailored dining and activity advice.

Sea Lions, philanthropists, murderers, fault lines, and awe-inspiring women — we have it all. Our most enthusiastic reviews are from locals, and we guarantee you’ll learn at least 5 new things, even if you grew up here.

All this is punctuated with numerous historic images of the early days.

We cover approximately 3 leisurely miles and walk a total of about 40 stairs (down). We traverse the heart of the village, and the highlights of the coast. There are some hills so if you have concerns or seek more detail feel free to contact us.

The standard tour is neither wheelchair nor stroller accessible, but we can EASILY design a custom tour tailored to your interests and abilities.

We love to present our little seaside hamlet.

Chas is amazing and engaging! I have been to La Jolla many times and never knew about its rich history. We learned how this community was shaped by women of the past who laid a foundation that sustains it today. The story of the Scripps Family and their legacy seeding the growth of many philanthropic projects. All my senses were engaged as Chas told the story, walked us along the path of history to see and touch the buildings, and smell and taste the sea. He shared pictures of the buildings as originally built in contrast to today. The current planning for the seal and bird populations was also shared -so interesting. If you want to spend an insightful afternoon book this trip!

We had such a great time on our walking tour of La Jolla with Chaz! He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many fun and interesting stories about the area. You could tell he’s a local legend — it felt like everyone we passed knew him! The tour was the perfect mix of history, humor, and beautiful sights. I highly recommend taking this tour if you want to experience La Jolla through the eyes of someone who truly loves and knows the community.

If you’re visiting La Jolla, do yourself a favor and book a walking tour with Chas! His deep knowledge of the area’s history, culture, and hidden gems made the experience unforgettable. Chas has a natural gift for storytelling — blending fascinating facts with entertaining anecdotes that kept us engaged from start to finish. Not only did he take us to iconic landmarks, but he also introduced us to lesser-known spots that felt like local secrets. His passion for La Jolla was contagious, and he made sure everyone in our group felt included and involved. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a longtime local, Chas’s tour is a must. Highly recommend!
