We found some interesting history from the guide. Felt the time allotted for the food stops were rushed and that is the focal point of the named “food” tour. Rushed for the time in the restaurants to allow more time for city sights of roosters statues and history stops. So more “food culture” time would have been better. We also fell behind the group about a 1/2 block to stop for a moment. Saw the group go around a corner as we were catching up and when we got there they were gone. A bar owner on the corner saw them go by and tried to figure out what German establishment they might have gone to and walked us around but no luck after we checked two. Would be nice if they offered a map or listings of the tour so you have a chance to catch up should you happen to fall back. So we missed the second half of our tour. We accept some fault, but take note, don’t slow down to smell the roses or you will be on your own as the guide wont look back even if it is a small group of 10.

Hi Ken, we are so glad you were able to experience the history of Ybor City. We are so rich in cultural impressions, thus the reason that we are named one of the National Historic Districts in the United States. We take time on our tours to enrich our attendees with this history and use the food stops as a platform to discuss the four cultures that make up our town. The food choices aren't so much the highlight as they change often. The history of the culture relating to the food is. For example, Cuban Rice & Beans to represent Cuba, Cafe Con Leche to represent Spaniards, and so on. We are so sorry you got away from the group. Tour Guides have to continue to carry on the tour if someone leaves. There's no way for them to know if a tourist had to leave early for personal reasons. If the tour guide would hand known you wanted to see other areas of the town and catch up, I'm sure she would have given an approximate time to meet back up. Giving a map wouldn't work because we visit important areas of history according to availability of restaurants. We change our routes often. We would like to take time to say: Thanks again for visiting Ybor City! Hope you enjoyed our town, feel free to come back to learn more about our town!

Our tour was a ton of fun. Tour guide Cindy shared a wealth of information about historic Ybor City, and we saw many, many sites. The food we sampled was delicious and portions were more than generous. We highly recommend this tour
