It was excellent since I hopped off at the third stop and ended up getting Brenda as a tour guide. The previous guide wasn't my cup of tea. Brenda was very knowledgeable and gave great facts, and interesting stories. She talked a lot about SCAD and it's positive effect o the city of Savannah. She was very upbeat. I believe she is from the area and could give personal insights in the more current history. I took the hop on hop off but you have to take into consideration the time to walk to see things and waiting for the next shuttle. I had not set aside enough time so stayed on Brenda's shuttle for the rest of the trip. I do agree with the inconsistency of the tour guides. The first gentleman was too snarky even for me and I don't even mind it usually. Very dismissive of SCAD's contribution even though the native's I met talk about the positive effect on the city. Not a native definitely. Way too much snide political talk. I don't want to know his views. Brenda turned this from a -1 star review to 4+.

We didn’t know which tour to take so the hotel gave us a coupon for this tour. It’s locally owned and unscripted. The first tour guide was ok but it was so hot it was hard to enjoy. They had some stops with scripted characters that were hard to understand. The second tour guide after a hop off for lunch was a woman who really knew her history, this was better. Next time I’d choose an air conditioned tour without characters they felt like an interruption in the flow. We thought we’d use this as transportation but didn’t want to go again to hear the actors a second time.

I liked that bottled water was available for a dollar. Also the flexibility to look at everything first and then hop off the trolley was a nice feature.
