We forecast cloud and auroras to ensure we are going to see Aurora. With our key locations and experience we will view the Northern Lights or you can come out viewing with us again for free within the next 30 days as part of our Aurora Guarantee Policy**

Gold, Gold, Gold! Alaska is known for oil and gold. Our guides are familiar with gold panning and the man who first discovered gold in July 1902, starting the Fairbanks Gold Rush. This monument is one of many treasures we are happy to share whenever possible with guests. Please remember we go where the clear skies are and not all guests have the same locations to visit. If you want to learn about Alaskan History, ask our wonderful guides who are happy to share both personal and historical facts and stories.

Alyeska Pipeline Viewing Point

Here at Aurora in Alaska we go to the best cloud free location each night. One of our favorites stops along the way is the awe-inspiring and historical Alyeska Pipeline. Whenever possible our guides happily share our Alaskan history with oil and take guests up close and personal to the pipeline.

We were really. pleased that Aurora in Alaska texted us in the morning and said that there was only a 20% chance of seeing the aurora that night and gave us the option of canceling or rescheduling. So appreciated that they gave us that opportunity. Unfortunately we were leaving the next day so we cancelled.

The aurora was outstanding the night we went. However you should know they aren't much to see with the naked eye. The guides take photos and you get the unedited ones for free; edited are extra. They do keep you warm as best they can, but it is still REALLY cold. Consider renting polar gear for a more pleasant experience.

The natural beauty of the auroras can indeed be more vivid through a camera lens due to the lens’ ability to capture more light than the human eye. While we strive to keep everyone warm, Alaska's cold can be challenging, and renting polar gear is a great suggestion for enhancing comfort. We do hope the warm fire, mobile Aurora lodge and warm vans helped keep you warm and toasty despite the bitter temps. My wife and I had an amazing time watching the Aurora. Everything is really well planned, the hot beverages and food are delicious. The team is all amazing, Andrew, Tony, Mike, all of them are very helpful, friendly and have a lot of know how. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
