Indy Walking Tours is a guided 90 minute comprehensive walking tour through the city streets of Indianapolis.
Our easy stroll through the city streets of Indianapolis will cover the:
Indiana War Memorial Historic District, Mass Ave, the Wholesale District, City Market, the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument and various interesting points in between.
In addition to learning about the rich history of Indianapolis, you'll also hear a story of local true crime, funny anecdotes, little known folklore, the inspirations and meanings behind historical statues, architecture and monuments, and more.
Be sure to wear comfy walking shoes as our walk will cover 1.5 miles.
This is the most comprehensive and interesting tour in Indy and a fun activity for all ages.

About halfway through the tour, we will take a short break at Indy City Market where you can use the restroom and grab and drink or snack. Because Indianapolis is an open container city, you will be permitted to order a beer at Tomlinson Taproom and take it with you on the rest of our journey.

Or guide was very knowledgeable and personable. We greatly enjoyed his tour. We left feeling like we had a good introduction to downtown Indianapolis, its history, and how it evolved into what it is now.

Excellent way to meet the city. So much history and the guide is very energetic and interesting. A cocktail break 1/2 through the tour is just an added bonus.

We absolutely LOVED our tour with Rob! Such a friendly, fun guy that shared so much information about the area. The heat was terrible (mid-90's) and he asked if we could move our tour to 10:30 am (from 2:00.) All parties agreed and we were SO grateful. The monuments in downtown Indianapolis are amazing. The cleanliness of the area was also surprising and they have a crew that just picks up trash on sidewalks, etc. There are many bars and restaurants in the area so you won't be at a loss to find somewhere to eat or drink. I highly recommend this 1-1/2 walking tour if you have the time in Indianapolis. We had an absolutely fabulous time! Well worth the money and suitable for most ages (little children might not be as excited seeing the city, but would like the walk!) A+A+A+
