Great tour and re-enactments of several events. We love visiting & each time we learn more interesting facts/ stories.

Having been here multiple times over the past 6 years, I must admit the changes caused my Covid do impact the experience but it is still an amazing experience for all. We were a party of seven(girls age 5, 7, 11, & 14, their mom, and we grandparents). If coming in hot weather and still under restrictions, the best advice is to go immediately to the ships. Currently only one ship, the Susan Constant, is open as the other two are under going maintenance. They are limiting the number of people and and restricting when you can go. They have set up tents on the dock for visitors to wait under, but.... We got on with only a few minutes wait. As we left, the line was growing and likely a 10 minute plus wait. The fort has most of the normal staff working - black smith, cook, guard, and a couple more. Having seen the musket demonstration at the Yorktown location, it was interesting to see the difference as we learned about the musket in the early 1600's. We ended our outside experience with the Powhatan village. It likewise had some restrictions on entering buildings. The three staff did an excellent job and held our groups attention. I had read the lunch room had a restricted menu but on this day, they had the full offering. Tables were marked to insure social distancing. Everyone enjoyed the film. Very well done. We cut short our museum visit since everyone was feeling the wear and tear from a third day of touring! All of the former, hands on activities, were turned off, but they had added some great visuals that enhanced the overall experience. The gift shop has been updated and upscaled .

I visited historic Jamestown settlement with my daughter and girlfriend who both had never been. The information center was fantastic and my daughter loved the showing how they fired the flintlock musket. It was very good though hot being the summer in June in VA
