We had a great day at Jamestown. The museum, the Powhatan village and the replicas of the ships that brought the settlers to Jamestown are excellent. In addition the settlement area has authentic replicas of buildings that were present during this time period. Those who work at the settlement, the Powhatan Village and the replica ships are great about answering questions.
The American Revolution Museum is almost overwhelming with written explanations of events that led up to the revolution through the surrender of Cornwallis. There are several artifacts that are very interesting, but if you want to read all of the information in the various galleries you will need to spend most of the day there. The Continental Army Encampment and Revolutionary era farm located outside of the museum are very good, but not as good as Jamestown.
