Don’t bother. They wait until they charge you to tell you that you’re not allowed to walk around on your own. We were in a group of 75 which was unmanageable. Couldn’t hear anything. We tried to poke around the exhibit while the guide was mumbling and got yelled at.

During a business conference at Williamsburg this past July, a reception was held at the Jamestown Settlement Museum. We had the opportunity to tour the museum and to sample local dishes at locations along the corridors of the museum. A late afternoon thunderstorm prevented us from touring the settlement. However, my wife and I were able to return a couple of days later to tour the settlement during a free afternoon at the conference. The displays of the settlement are very impressive. It gives you a good understanding of what life was like during pre colonial days in Virginia.

I would highly recommend the Jamestown settlement experience. It is a perfect tour for families with young children we are we took a tour with Eric the guide and he did an excellent, outstanding job. There is there is a cafeteria and the inside exhibits are also outstanding
