We booked this tour to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and it didn't disappoint! Everything went like clockwork from our pick-up, to drop off at the helicopter site, the flight, and return to the ship. We were outfitted with great boots so glad because I thought my boots would be ok - HA! and could have borrowed a coat if we had needed it. The temperatures were mild and the wind was a light breeze, so no coat needed! Our pilot was fun and pointed out a lot of landmarks and things to see as we flew to the glacier. Upon landing, he gave us a few safety tips and then let us explore. We got to drink the flowing water, learned why the ice looks blue want to know? take the tour!, and take tons of pictures. Our pilot took pictures for everyone who wanted them, but was not hovering over anyone. We were probably on the glacier 30-40 minutes before we had to head back, but everyone was pleased to go because it was starting to sprinkle. The flight back was amazing as well and we took pictures of all of it. We highly recommend this tour as Hubbard Glacier is phenomenal and seeing it up close and personal is the trip of a lifetime!
This was the most exciting tour that I have ever done. The helicopter ride was so awesome and the glacier was breath taking. It is well worth the expense for this experience!
The trip was very memorable. We went there in August, and we were prepared light sweatshirt and light jacket needed here, which made it enjoyable. The helicopter ride was very smooth, I didn't get any motion sickness at all to which I'm prone. The view of the glacier up close it hard to describe. The word 'Awesome' comes close. We drank from one of the running/melting ice and it tasted clean and fresh.
