I have attended several Luaus in the past and was looking forward to having my friends experiencing one. This is not what happened. This Luau was poor from the start. We bought middle of the line tickets and were treated like second class citizens. There was a long line to get in for us but the highest price tickets basically just walked in. Once in the drink was so long that I missed the start of the show waiting in line. The drink tickets were only good for a watered down Mai Tai and a can of wine was $6 extra. The food except for the chicken was inedible and you served yourself. During the show the wait staff continuously walked in front of us so the show which was second rate was second rate was hard to watch. The star of the show was a Caucasian male who stood out because of his height and pale skin. His try for audience participation was horrendous. The other dancers were slightly better than average. I would not recommend this Luau for half the price.

Absolutely terrible! The entire experience was an absolute disaster. It didn’t just rain, it was a downpour that completely ruined any chance of enjoying the evening. The "ponchos" they handed out were pathetic—cheap, flimsy things that lasted all of two minutes before my pants were soaked through and through. It’s almost laughable that they think that’s adequate protection. Sure, the ad claims "the show goes on rain or shine," but even if the rain hadn’t been a problem, the food was so mediocre it was hard to care about anything else. When it’s cold and you’re sitting in the rain on a wet chair trying to eat, even if this was a five-star meal would be hard to appreciate, but alas it wasn't a five star meal, it was mediocre at best which the relentless rain water made intolerable. For a company that’s supposedly been around for years, it’s baffling they didn’t have any contingency for the rain. A simple solution, like bringing out some large market umbrellas, could have made a world of difference. But no, instead, they just let everyone sit there in the downpour, getting completely drenched. They clearly care more about saving a buck than actually providing a decent experience for their customers. When the rain started, they should’ve just canceled the show and refunded everyone’s money. Instead, people were leaving in droves, seeking shelter under the sparse awnings around the area. By the middle of the show, the place was practically empty—everyone had either left or taken cover elsewhere. It should have been completely embarrassing for Ka Moana but I doubt they care. They already have our money and after all we're just stupid tourists that agreed to sit in the rain when we purchased our tickets. I paid for the "Celebrity VIP" tickets, and I honestly can’t believe how badly this company treated us. Ka Moana is clearly raking in the cash but has no interest in providing a quality experience. This was my third Luau, and it will definitely be my last at Ka Moana. Do yourself a favor—save your money or put it towards something better, because this is hands down the most disappointing, frustrating, and expensive waste of time I’ve ever had on vacation. By far the worst night of the entire trip.

I think everyone, no matter what package they booked, felt welcomed the moment we arrived! I chose the top of the line package & my seating put me nearer the stage, but I wasn’t in center as anticipated so some viewing obstruction, but the food & show were great!
