My boyfriend and I took a trip to Las Vegas for a little getaway trip. We knew we wanted to explore some nature and this immediately caught my eye. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by 2 tour guides. They were very sweet and easy to talk to. Our tour guide was Stewart and he was extremely knowledgeable about kayaking, the land, nature, and history of the area. I would highly recommend to anyone who is down for nature and good company!

Arrived at the gate only to discover that there was an entry fee of $25 to the park. It was not included in the cost of this excursion. The ranger was nice enough to let us through though. Also, it was unclear of what time to arrive as the location is in AZ (Mountain time) and Vegas is on Pacific. So if you are coming from Vegas, make sure you know what time it is in AZ or you will end up arriving an hour early like we did. The tour guide was very helpful, welcoming, knowledgeable and funny too. Gave great instructions on how to operate the kayak. The kayaks come with compartments for your personal items to keep them from getting wet. They are also adjustable to accommodate tall people like me. We kayaked a total of 4 miles so be prepared for the exercise. Stopped for a short hike and had water and snacks provided for us. The river water is 58° all year round which was very refreshing in the summer heat. Was with a group of about 10 so it was just the right size group. The marina provides other type of watercraft if you are not wanting to kayak. Due to COVID-19, the restaurant was not open at the marina but there was a small convenience store for snacks and drinks. Overall, a great excursion and I would very much recommend this tour.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! We're very sorry that you were misinformed about the park entrance fee. We've reduced our prices for the season because of covid-19 to heavily offset the cost of self-driving down to the marina. Nonetheless we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your tour in the Black Canyon! Also our apologies on daylight savings time confusion. Arizona does not observe daylight savings therefore is on the same time as Vegas through the summer. We will definitely be letting our guests know when daylight savings ends on November 1st and Las Vegas will be the hour ahead of Arizona MST.
