Although this trip is conducted in Deception Pass State Park we avoid the turbulent water near the bridge which is more suitable for expert kayakers. My 6 year old grandson, Declan, and I did the 1 1/2 hour family tour at Bowman Bay (Deception Pass). It was an outstanding time and Katie, our guide, made the time very memorable. Katie shared her knowledge of the sea life, birds, and showed us how to eat kelp. Declan really liked eating the kelp and I did too. I wanted my grandson to have a positive, enjoyable first experience kayaking and Katie made that happen. I think Declan probably did most of the talking but his talking was an indication of how much he (and I) enjoyed our time. Katie is an outstanding guide. This is my second trip with AKT and I highly and enthusiastically recommend these trips. I plan to return with Declan for a three hour trip out of Skyline. Thank you for a great time!
