We had a great time and lucked out with a gorgeous sunny day. Our guide showed us all different wildlife including the purple and orange starfish, eagles and tons of spawning salmon. We even got lucky and saw a mama bear and cub. Beautiful town, lovely people.

We weren't thrilled with this tour. It was just ok and I wouldn't do it again. I felt like it was not worth the money we paid. We saw no wildlife. The only point of interest was the totem poles but otherwise I felt like we could have done this tour ourselves self guided.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your tour. We do wish we could guarantee wildlife but there are times when they do not appear. During these times we do like to think that the other stops( waterfall, saxman native village, beach and salmon ladder) combined with our guides knowledge about the history and legends that surround our beautiful island, make up for it.

We booked this excursion because it was comparable to the cruise-line option but much cheaper! We were a large group (5 adults & 3 kids) and we were promptly met by a lady holding a sign on the pier where we were docked. We were introduced to our tour guide; Carson! He lead us to the van and took us through downtown Ketchikan, first stop was salmon run on Creek St. Carson was extremely knowledgeable as he had lived most of his life in Alaska, he could answer any questions we had. We then proceeded to a natural fishing bay with a stop at the oldest totem pole, he explained the first nations history and relevance of their totem poles. Then we stopped at a waterfall, and then a river to view bald eagles fishing, we were lucky enough to spot a black bear as well! He then took us to the totem pole village which had many different types of totem poles and he explained the significance of most of them. Carson was an excellent tour guide, he helped our mobility-impaired Mother in and out of the van and was very patient (especially with the kids around). Overall we had an excellent experience and left Ketchikan with a wealth of knowledge - Thank you Carson!!! p.s. we could not find your Becky at the Raptor center in Sitka - maybe she has moved on...?
