We were lucky to have Ava as our guide for the morning. She grew up in Ketchikan and knew so much about the area! She was very knowledgeable and did a great job showing us around. It was disappointing that we weren’t able to see salmon run because they had not started their journey, whales or see a bear. We would recommend this tour and would recommend asking for Ava.

The 4 of us met with our driver/guide on the pier a bit of a walk from our cruise ship. There were 6 others in the group. The tour was definitely not as described and the guide was anything but a good experience. He was crude, using language unbecoming a tour guide - especially in the presence of 2 young children in our group. He was pompous, describing most of what we were seeing as "his" accomplishments. And he did not comply with our wishes at the end of the tour. We had expected the tour to end half an hour prior to when it actually did, so we asked if we could be dropped off ifirst in front of the pier next to our ship - as we had a specialty dining reservation. He said he would do that and then he proceeded to go back to the meeting point to drop off the 2nd group. When we protested, and asked to just stop the van so we could quickly walk back, he kept driving and said he would drive us over to the ship. It was an area of road construction and great traffic jams so we asked - a little less politely - for him to please stop the van so that we could walk. He did so. Neither we - nor the other group tipped him anything.

Hello, We are saddened to hear you had a bad experience and disapointed to hear that one of our guides conducted himself in a tactless manner. We apologize that your tour ran over time, we do our best to keep a consistent schedule, however something's are out of our control (an example of this would be the heavy construction you spoke of). It does sound like he may have just forgotten about the agreement to drop you off first . Had he dropped you off first he still would have had to drive through the construction (as we only have one main road). In the end he still did try to accomidate you and complete the favor you asked of him . Thank you for your feedback it is always appreciated so that we may provide the best experience possible.
