The reviews were pretty good, and so we decided to give this a try. Unfortunately, we didn't have a great time, and we didn't think the cost was worth it. The staff was super friendly, but the problem is that it takes 45 minutes to get out to Molasses Reef (plus another 45 minutes to get back), and so there is 30 minutes maximum to look at fish. On the day we went, visibility was approximately 65% (according to the crew), and we hardly saw anything. We saw probably 10 jellyfish and 1 turtle. But even if visibility had been better, it's hard to imagine that you'd end up seeing a whole lot. It's just a whole lot of effort (time, potential sea sickness, not inexpensive cost of ticket), without much pay-off.

We had a great time on the Princess. Tour operators were super - they made sure I got Dramamine (it was just a tiny bit choppy) and checked on me several times to make sure I was feeling well. They were also very accommodating when I needed to switch dates. My spouse doesn’t swim, so this was his chance to see coral without getting wet. Guide was so knowledgeable and shared the history of the reef while pointing out natural details. Our sail concluded with a beautiful sunset -a great way to close a day in Key Largo!

Staff was excellent. Very educational. Very few fish seen through glass bottom. Coral not doing well due to warm water. Seeing wild dolphins swimming with boat and jumping on way back was very cool.
