The boat ride to the reef is long - like 45 minutes each way for only 30 minutes over the reef.
If you want to enjoy the fresh air, you will likely have to stand. There was only seating for 8 on the open deck, and those seats were in the sun. We happened to get 4 of those seats, but it was really hot, and that was in early March. Surely they could have seats in the shaded area on the open deck so that the boat ride could be enjoyable. Your other option is the lower enclosed deck, which does have some seating around the outside, but who wants to spend 2 hours inside?? So the boat ride left much to be desired.
Then the 30 minutes over the reef was very underwhelming. We had good visibility, but there was very little to see. Very few fish, limited coral, and very little color. The narration was pretty good, but views were disappointing and pretty boring.
The ride back was very long - especially for children.
In a nutshell, the trip was Great Expectations which, sadly, were not met. My suggestion is to save your time and money and do something else.

Carla, Thank you for taking the time to rate and review your experience, If mother nature would of built the reef closer to shore then it would be a shorter ride, The upper deck is meant to be an open deck. Sorry that King Neptune did not put on a better show for you. Sorry we did not meet your expectations
