I wanted to give my wife something unique experience for her birthday and came upon “Let’s Go Sail” and it was perfect. The booking process was simple. Captain Bill contacted us soon after the booking with comprehensive instructions and what to expect. Updated weather report the night before our sail was provided. We visited the American Revolutionary Museum prior to our sail to make sure we were in the area and not mess up our departure time. Once at the yacht club, Captain Bill met us promptly and whisked us away to his boat. We were given a quick safety briefing as we boarded and were on our way. Captain Bill was quite knowledgeable of his craft and explained exactly what to expect and how to sail. Once under way, he allowed us to take the helm with instructions how to catch the wind. The wife and I are big fans of military history, Captain Bill explained the Battle of the Capes in detail to include paintings of the battle. Explaining the nuances of age of sail battles. It was a fantastic lesson on a little known battle which had huge consequences for our nation. During the lesson a school of dolphins dropped by and we stopped everything as Captain Bill tried to draw them in closer with a bell. Once under way again a storm was closing in and we made way back to port. This trip was amazing, my wife loved it and I gave her a very memorable Birthday present. Thank you Captain Bill for a wonderful experience. Anyone reading this, you cannot go wrong here, it was a wonderful personal sailing experience.

We loved our sailing trip with Capt. Bill. Perfect experience all around. Easy to make reservations, Capt. Bill updated us on the weather prior to our sail. He provide us with cold water that was needed on a hot July day, thanks so much! Everyone was offered a chance at the helm. Our 19 year old son enjoyed sailing the boat, what a memorable experience. That evening capt. Bill sent pictures to us of our day out sailing with him, he got some great shots! All three of us enjoyed our first sailing trip. My husband (a mechanic) enjoyed looking at and talking about the diesel engine and helping with the sails. We all learned about sailing and some history about the surrounding area. The trip was a special time on our vacation. We highly recommend this experience with Capt. Bill on his beautiful sailboat, what a great host!

We had a wonderful day sailing with Williamsburg Charter Sails. Captain Bill emailed us the weather forecast the night before and the morning of the sail. Captain Bill greeted us upon arriving at the marina and made us feel welcome. Our sail benefited from good winds due to a storm that arrived later in the afternoon. Captain Bill was able to raise the main sail and cut the engine shortly after we had left the marina. All aboard were given the opportunity to take control of the wheel. Thankfully there was enough wind for Captain Bill to unfurl the jib sail. We were really able to pick up speed and had several awesome heels. Captain Bill controlled the sails and gave very clear instructions to those of us controlling the wheel. Captain Bill displayed his knowledge and expertise by communicating with a Coast Guard Cutter that was passing. We were able to see the Coleman Bridge opened as the Cutter progressed. We were joined on our sail by another family that were wonderful companions, and their presence made an amazing day even more memorable. The day concluded with Captain Bill navigating back into the marina and providing pictures of our sail later by email. I hope to have another sail with Captain Bill and Williamsburg Charter Sails.
