We were group of 7 people with 3 kids, We were on 2:20 PM trip Aug 26th 2021. Right from the beginning our guide does not talk much, He said he would let us know when to paddle but we were not doing anything and for the first 30 minutes and were sitting on the raft doing absolutely nothing. For the whole trip we did not paddle more then 10 times. We could see others were laughing and playing with paddles. others were getting in to water and splashing water on each other when we tried to do same thing on our raft guide said "The only person getting wet here is me" we barely got wet at the end of the trip, we were splashing water on ourselves to beat the heat. We wanted to just abort the trip and get back home, came out with disappointed experience when others were coming out happy and satisfied. Felt it was waste of money and time. So if you are going to rafting in the smokies the choose your guide if you could. I am not revealing the name of the guide here on purpose. Not sure this happened because the guide was less communicative or he does not like brown skin.

First time rafting and it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend doing it if you visit the area! Houston was our guide on the trip. He did an awesome job. Going to come back and try the upper at some point.

Dale was our guide for My son and I first time, My fiancé has rafted before. We had an excellent time, I truly think this set us up for a stronger challenge!! Thank you Dale and best wishes to you and your family and enjoy that new bundle of joy ..
