Let's start with Captains Ross and Dallas. Capt. Ross was in the water with us and beforehand, he explains the rules. It's clear as he's talking that he cares about the creatures and habitat he's telling you about. Listen to what he says and do it the way he tells you and you will have a great time and you wont negatively impact the manatees or their environment. Capt. Dallas is a genuinely friendly guy who seems to enjoy the passengers on his boat and has fun with them.
Now let's talk about equipment. Out of exactly 30 tour companies licensed to do these tours, ONLY this company uses the 5mil suits as opposed to the much cheaper 3mil suits. What does this mean to you? Much warmer in the water, much more buoyancy (no noodle needed) and longer swim times. Leave your fins, you dont need them and masks and snorkels are provided if you dont have your own.
Coffee and hot chocolate are on the boat when you get back to it as well as towels. When you get back to the plantation, hot showers are available.
Finally, Capt. Ross is a good videographer and videos from your swim are available for purchase on a manatee shaped flash drive.
Are you convinced yet? You should be. This is tour you want to spend your money on, and if you can get Ross and Dallas, well that's all the better.
