  • The Mary Todd Lincoln House is partially wheelchair accessible. The first floor of the museum can be reached via a handicap lift and is wheelchair navigable. Please ask staff for access to the lift. The second floor is not wheelchair accessible. There are twenty-one steps to the second floor. A photo album of the upstairs is available for visitors who are unable to or choose not to tour the upstairs.

Very informative tour and house which is still in the process of being restored. Although it is self guided there were 2 docents who provided lots of insight.

Even though it was a self guided tour, the two employees who were there, one on the bottom floor (Grayson) and one on the second floor (a super nice older gentleman) were there to answer our every question and we sure did pick their brains and they answered every question to our satisfaction. They have a great knowledge of the house and possessions and time period pertinent to the house. The gift shop was neat to look into as well and the prices were really reasonable.

The docents were knowledgeable and interesting. Groups were not in the same room at the same time. It felt very relaxed and at a nice pace.
