We really had a great time using Extended Horizons dive shop once again! We were here two years ago to brush up on our skills and came back this year for a two tank shore dive repeat. GU (Gustavo) was very safe. He took us through all of their COVID safety protocols and then picked out two safe, low current beach dives (Black Rock & then Airport beach). We saw tons of turtles, green moray, zebra and yellow margin eels, but the kicker was that GU spied an octopus disguised in coral. None of us could make it out until we were on top of it, but GU saw it from 20 feet out! He got us to swim past it and then follow him back around as he swam up to it very slow and low. The octopus came out to get a better look at GU and that’s when we were able to see the whole thing. It became shy again when the rest of us approached, but we slowly followed GU’s lead and watched the octopus traversing between the coral changing its patterns and color to match. Absolutely incredible!! I’ve never seen an octopus during a day dive before. Thanks again, GU!!
