Specially designed for guests coming on cruise ships! This is a 3 hour Tour. We meet at the downtown cruise ship dock. Enjoy the 30 minute narrated tour, past downtown Juneau out to the Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area. Explore the visitor center, trails and photo opportunities for 2 hours. Then your guide will be ready to take you back to the downtown dock area with great ideas for the rest of your visit to Juneau.

The shuttle was fine. Driver gave you some interesting local history on the way up to the glacier area. You can get a good view of the glacier if you hike over to it about 1 mile from the parking area. It is not a difficult hike. There was also a large waterfall right next to the viewing area that added to the experience, although you can get a little damp from the mist. The view of the Mendenhall Glacier is much closer than you'll get from the Sawyer Glacier if your cruise goes by there due to the floating ice in the water.

Unfortunately rainy day but it is almost normal. You expect to see a glacier but actually imagine it since you do not get very close and you can only admire it from very far away and with a nice telescope. Instead you arrive by footpath, at the foot of a waterfall that goes directly into the sea. It is about half an hour from the city but it is nothing exceptional.
