Moab Canyoneering i River Stand Up Paddleboard Combo

We recently did a canyoneering / paddleboard combo trip and had a blast! The guides Nate and Landen were top notch. They made the experience completely enjoyable. A must do for anyone visiting Moab!

TLDR: I would recommend this without hesitation to anyone seeking a fun adventure-filled day! Long Version: I had Marco as a guide and he was phenomenal. I can't say enough great things about him! Not only was he extremely knowledgeable and PATIENT but he helped make everyone in the group felt comfortable and most importantly SAFE. We had a large group with a huge age range that most could not handle. He masterfully met each person where they were and tried to make sure everyone had a great time. He also was very knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as the geology. I learned so much while also taking in the stunning views. When I got slightly overheated he (along with Jef the other guide) was patient and showed genuine care and concern about my well-being. I was going to skip out on the paddling portion because I wasn't feeling so hot but I am glad I didn't! After getting some lunch in me and getting into the water, I felt much better. The paddling portion was at your own pace and was very refreshing after canyoneering and hiking. Since our group was so large, we went over the normal allotted time but he did not rush the experience in order to keep it at 6 hrs. I feel like I truly got my money's worth. A couple of tips. If you are going in the summer months, pack more water than you think you will need! I would recommend at least 2 quarts if you are going in the summer and to be completely honest, I think this is a better experience for cooler months (not July/August). A lot of this trip was in full sun which even in dry heat can be a challenge. I choose this because it was my birthday and I wanted a memorable experience but if you can book another month it would be even better. Another tip is even though this says it is for beginners the hike out of the canyon is not a short one (approx. 3 miles) so I think it is important that you have some basic hiking experience. You don't have to be an expert but you definitely don't want this to be your first hike ever. A tip for canyoneering is to listen closely to your guide. They are there to help you and keep you safe. It is an experience of a lifetime but definitely not for the faint of heart. I was very happy to be back on solid ground after the two canyons but equally as excited to have completed a bucket list experience in such a beautiful setting with such wonderful people. One final tip is to be patient and kind to your guides and the rest of the group. There are a lot of safety measures put in place in between each repeller so it is not a quick process. Just sit back and enjoy the scenery and get to know the folks in your group. You may find that you have something in common with others. Overall, I would recommend this without hesitation to anyone seeking a fun adventure-filled day!
