The city tour was excellent, as was the transport to and from to the NASA space center. The price paid was reasonable as well. However, this was in December, and the crowds at the space center was huge. We had to wait for a long time to get in to the space center, and the wait for the tram tour was about 45 minutes or more. Although this cannot be controlled by the tour organizers, they could offer the option of the space center tour on its own without the city tour, and drop off people at the space center at 9 AM when it opens for visitors. By doing so, it would be faster getting in, and people would have the entire day until 5 PM to tour the space center. I understand this option may not be the best for everyone, but, I am sure there would be sufficient people who are really interested in spending an entire day at the space center. It was nearly 1.00 PM when we got in to the space center, and we were told to be at the entrance to go back to downtown by 4.45 PM, thereby giving us less than 4 hours at the space center. Given the crowds, this time period was not at all sufficient to see and experience even 50% of what they had to offer. As a result, I came back the next day on my own, so that I had the opportunity of experiencing more of what they had to offer.

Part of this review is poor planning on our part. However, this tour has been probably the worst tour I have ever been on. We went between Christmas and New Years which is probably the first mistake we made. Upon arrival we immediately tried to get in line for a tram tour. The line started at one end of the building and wrapped all the way around the other side. Once in line a lady came up and told us there were too many people in line and we would have to go see or do something else. So we left the line to return approximately 1/2 hour later to start back in line pretty much at the same place. Waited in line for well over an hour. Finally made it to the back door- another line. Waited in that line for approximately 30 minutes for a tram. Finally boarded the tram which took us about 1/2 mile out to Rocket Park. Had us leave the tram there to get into yet another line to catch another tram to go out to the tour. Waited about another hour. Finally got on that tram to the Mission Control Building. Got off the tram again and went inside for the 15 minute presentation in the Mission Control Center. Not the Apollo Mission Control Center that I thought it was going to be. I was told later that you have to get timed tickets for that. Anyway, get back on board the tram and you are then taken back to Rocket Park where you leave that tram and finally get in line for another tram to return to the space Center. Over 3 hours in lines for a 20 minute presentation. Our group felt this tour was extremely disorganized and dysfunctional, very inefficient. I would have also appreciated a brochure or something when paying for admittance to let us know the differences in tours and what they entailed. Also, it would have been nice had somebody given us the heads up as to the length of time it would take in line. Still very interesting. My recommendations: do your internet research on tours and times. Go early as first thing in the morning. Unless you enjoy lots of people and long lines do not go close to Holidays or on the weekends.
